Teaching Ah Ha's

Way back when, I was an education major. I had a vague idea of what teaching meant and how I would use my skills. I thought I could incorporate my minor in television and health into a unique skill that hospitals would crave. Alas, I was too far ahead of my time (20 years before the explosion of healthcare and the need to educate patients about healthy living). I quickly became jaded by broadcast TV internships, sour producers and hospital administrators that thought video would only be useful for 'filming' surgeries.

Solid lesson plans and the methods used are the hallmarks of a good teacher. I turned the same methods into marketing, public relations and advertising plans. My students became 'targeted decision makers' and my lesson plans became 'marketing plans.'

Over these past 18 (has it been that long?!) years, we have preached the philosophy that an educated client was a better client. As international association ambassadors we presented to chamber audiences, professional organizations and even conducted in-house sessions with client-companies. Our ah ha; our 'whack on the side of the head' was that we have always been teaching. And, clients really want to learn. They do not want to have to buy a new fish everyday, but want to learn to fish for themselves.

I am proud to announce the rebranding of our firm Felber & Felber Marketing around this simple philosophy of teaching. Felber & Felber Marketing specializes in helping companies improve their communications through creative execution and instruction on self-sustaining best practices.

For those of you with more projects than time, we will still execute your press releases or plan the next product launch. But, if you want to learn how to do it more on your own—we'll teach you that too!

Enjoy this first newsletter and be sure to tour our new website, try your hand at our tests and learn about clients who have chosen to cut their own teeth learning the trade.
