How We Promoted Liberty Bank
Client: Liberty Bank
Challenge: The fifteen year-old bank was competing in several highly-saturated communities. The bank wanted to increase name recognition and continue to add new customers with commercial (business) and retail (personal) accounts.
Target: Adults in a general public gathering a few doors from one of the banks’ branches. Click to Enlarge
Solution: In a creative and striking cross promotion event, the bank took advantage of the midnight release of the book Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince, to date the largest and most publicized book release. Local Border's Books allowed the bank to offer the following: If the new book owner opened an account at Liberty Bank, the bank would credit them the cost of their new book.

With the theme Poof! Your New Book is FREE on colorful large signs at the entrance, registration table and all registers, Liberty staff (and their weary marketing agency) greeted the capacity crowd from 9 pm and well past the first midnight sale. The promotion wrapped up well after 2:30 am. All the surprised and costumed-fan patrons received a voucher for their free book.

Results: Results The bank reported that people came in the very next day and several accounts were opened surpassing $75,000 in overall deposits.
